Kane nodded once and hung his head.
Perhaps anonymity was always a fool’s hope. Why bother with the ruse now…
“Interesting,” Kane spoke up. “… and we thought to hide what we had done. It looks as though we have another unlikely friend here in the Hall.” Kane stood from his chair and leaned forward with his palms on the table, “We seem to have a penchant for collecting powerful enemies; perhaps it’s time for us to collect some powerful friends?”
His companions said nothing, so Kane continued,
“I say we meet as requested. At the very least we may find information that helps to get the mages off our back about the trading post massacre.” Kane smiled mischievously and looked at Odus. As he did so, Kane‘s image began to change; and in an instant, Odus was staring back at himself!
The heroes decide to meet with the mysterious person who left them the note; not knowing what else to do at this point.
They travel through the caverns with some success without Terrlen
They are set upon by 2 Tiefling Heretics and a Bronze Warder
One scroll is a crude map, discovered to be directions to the gnoll
The second scroll has the following message,
I don’t care how you do it, but deal with these adventurers; my ally is positive they are a threat to our plans. Take one of the bronze warders if you must. If they remain in the Labyrinth, they might spoil everything. Once you have dealt with them, deliver their bodies to our gnoll friends, along with the enclosed scroll.
The third of the scrolls reads as follows:
To Maldrick Scarmaker, Exalted Chieftan of the Blackfangs and Chosen of Yeenoghu,
Paldemar offers you the corpses of these champions (one, a devout of Rao, foe of all demonkind) as a gift of ongoing friendship that our arrangement might continue to be mutually beneficial. May you savour their blood. Your friend and ally.
Terrlen came up and apologized to us; where he admitted to losing consciousness a few times before, always when leading people through the labrynth
Terrlen’s continued information leads Isak to thinking that the influences he’s describing align worrisomely with the spheres of influence of Vecna.
Serena: Paldemar is one of the Mages of Saruun, but has been missing and out of contact with the rest of the mages for weeks. Maldrick is known to be associated with gnolls; quite possibly the Black Fangs.
