Realizing that, while few arcanists could match her power, she was vulnerable to physical attacks. Arianna therefore developed this spell before she undertook her quest to defeat the hellfire wyrm Glydsigilinar and take his magic ring. She did so by herself without the aid of her companions, whom she did not wish to endanger for this item. Needless to say, they were all angry with her for leaving them out. 

Spell Effect

Upon casting this spell, the person touched is protected by a force-like envelopment, which provides a +29 armour bonus. Incorporeal creatures cannot bypass this protection.


Arianna‘s Arcane Eliminator

  • Components: V, S
  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 300 feet
  • Duration: Instantaneous
  • Target: One creature, object or spell
  • Saving Throw: None
  • Spell Resistance: No

Before their terrible battle with the lich-god Vecna, each hero made their specific preparations. Arianna knew she would be unable to overcome the god’s spell resistance, so she would have to play a different role, that of eliminating his protections. That was when she developed Arianna‘s Arcane Eliminator, which is probably the only reason the heroes were able to prevent Vecna from obtaining the regalia of evil might before they destroyed it.

Spell Effect

This spell operates as a dispel magic spell except that the maximum bonus on the dispel check is +28.
