  • After having defeated Rasputin, the heroes travel back to rest – but their rest is disturbed – Pheig continues her assault on the heroes from the dreamscape

  • Puki begins investigating how the Undaunted can protect themselves from her sleep disruption – after the barbarians on the stone roost get into huge fights, there is a potion they drink to go into a deep, deep sleep allowing them to recover quickly – he can whip up a sedative to help with dreamless sleep (1x only)
  • Legion channels his power with The Lich King to use again the power of Scrying – he stares into the eyes of his shade minion to aid his focus on scrying Pheig
  • Legion‘s attempt is rebuffed – the spell she’s using to hide her seems to redirect your focus on a complicated algorithm of possible locations – like a gameshow landing on a random focus, not where she is
  • Legion might be smart enough to figure it out, but it would take dozens (or more!) attempts with that spell
  • The confusion seems somewhat pattern-like – as if a probability or equation could help to solve it
  • The heroes go the wizard’s university in Eldolan and explain the problem, and while some start to theorize, but there are clearly no experts there
  • Getting forceful with an older, wizened wizard, Legion speaks to him in private where he is told that there is a ritual that can ‘hide’ things, and it’s something most would consider wizards the best at, but…
  • … the biggest secret is that NO wizard would be smart enough to get it on the first try, and no one can do it often enough to ‘brute force’ it
  • this is math that is ‘god-touched’ – most of the math wizards know can be figured out, but they know enough to know that there is a ‘math’ and ‘complex equations’ that describe different parts of the universe, that only the gods know
  • no matter how much they figure out, there’s some info that only the divine will ever know
  • However!  The Wardens of Reason, a priesthood dedicated to Janeera: Goddess of Knowledge, Logic, & Mathematics have a temple in the wing of the cathedral – they could pray upon it
  • he warns if you get touched by God Logic, it might impact your ability to use logic in the normal realm

  • Idris knows Judith is travelling now, so doesn’t check in with her
  • Puki checks his bank account
  • Legion‘s instructions with various contacts are still in place
  • Nidalru makes no additional moves

  • The trip to the Priestess‘ Cathedral in Santa Cora is somewhat uneventful
  • The cathedral reaches so high it goes into the Overworld
  • As the heroes approach the cathedral’s massive outer doors, there are two priests of Janeera right there already!
  • Not dressed in fancy robes, but almost ‘college student clothes’ – parchment and quills in hand, glasses perched on their noses
  • Noticeably excited as the heroes approach, they introduce themselves as Jent and Sent – and they knew we’d be coming
  • They imply we don’t know why we’re here, or that we don’t ‘consciously’ know, then argue about the % likelihood of something or another
  • after establishing their formula might be right depending on what the heroes need help with, they suggest someone is using “Far Realm” magic to cloud other people’s divinations
  • they say if the heroes can help them find teh source and resolve it, they can almost certainly help solve the equation

  • Came upon a coloured marble pyramid with amazing architecture
  • a large sphere of silver force is at the top
  • A long staircase led upwards, at the top of which was visisble large, human-headed sentinels
  • Arriving there, the heroes were confronted by the guardians and forced to defend themselves!

ENGAGE!

  • Realizing that they’re wasting time, ;), the heroes spring past the lammasu priest guardians into the next set of stairs – as soon as they do, the priests freeze back into ‘guardian mode’.
