When the renegade Githyanki tribe of Kthllak’Thor kidnapped one of Pelor‘s junior clerics to challenge their dreaded lich-queen based on a senseless prophecy, Adara, knowing the magic of the mighty blades of the Githyanki, prayed to Pelor to grant her protection while she went to retrieve her priestly associate. Her prayer was granted in the form of Pelor‘s Protection of Providence, which made her nearly immune to the potent greatswords of the githyanki, though was not as effective against their red dragon steeds. Fortunately, Adara had already been granted Pelor‘s Punitive Wrath, and she returned with her junior unharmed.
Spell Effect
Upon casting this spell, the caster is protected by a faintly glowing nimbus giving her damage reduction of 14/epic.

To prevent the balor sorcerer Tzzanak from assembling the dreaded artifact Song of Night’s Sorrow, Adara had to journey to his underworld lair. Knowing the legends of the legendary guardian to his cave, a great Three-Headed Sirrush (see the Epic-Level Handbook), Adara prayed for the power to destroy the creature so she could move on to her true target, the demon-magician. Pelor granted her prayer, and she used the spell to great effect on the beast. Unfortunately, Tzzanak was scrying the battle and teleported in to finish Adara off after the spell had weakened her. But Adara was well prepared, and, one quickened heal later, let Tzzanak feel Pelor‘s wrath as well.
Spell Effect
This spell inflicts 20d20 points of damage to one target. The caster takes 27d6 points of backlash damage. The damage is of no particular type or energy–it is purely destructive force. It automatically destroys effects that are otherwise impervious to damage, such as Wall of Force, Bigby‘s Hand spells, Globe of Invulnerabilty and Antimagic Field. It may destroy Epic Wards on an opposed caster-level check.

When Adara and her friends traveled back in time to stop a living Acererak‘s monstrous creation, a Flesh Colossus (see the Epic-Level Handbook), from wreaking havoc upon the citizens of the Flanaess, they were thwarted by the construct’s large antimagic field, which nullified the magic of her companion’s weapons. Adara prayed for a spell to overcome the colossus’ defenses and received Pelor‘s Obstacle Obliterator. When they confronted the giant golem again, she cast the spell upon it, ruining the field of antimagic. Balinor, Lelldorin, and Arikazi then made short work of the construct, allowing history to unfold as it should.

When Adara was left with Balinor to guard the planar rupture caused by Graz’zt while her companions went to the demon prince’s lair to find out how to seal it, Graz’zt tried to launch his hordes through to the Prime Material Plane. The holy warriors fought back swarms of demons for over eight hours until Balinor finally fell. After receiving telepathic communication from Arianna that her friends were about to be successful and needed only a few moments more but that the demon prince himself was preparing to walk through, Adara asked for one of Pelor‘s mightiest servants to come to her aid. With the presence of Seraphimanaxius, Adara was able to push back the Dark Prince and his fiends until her friends sealed the rift. Her first action afterward was to raise Balinor.
