- The heroes decided to try diplomacy with the Storm Giants at the Inverse Observatory who control The Telluric Lens
- First, they went back to Santa Cora to stock up on potions.
- Then, hopped on Cloudskimmer to make their way to the Observatory.
- On the way, encountered a massive Overworld Worm
- ENGAGE!
- Arriving at The Inverse Observatory, they see another ship that arrived first
- The ship carried a cloud giant, a rakshasa, and a medusa lord
- A Storm Giant servitor brought the heroes in to dock
- She recognized them: “Golden Eyes followed by Shadow”
- Idris asks for an audience with Ankyroth and she obliges, leading them into a massive courtyard
- The other party immediately recognized & commented that the heroes had felled The Stone Thief
- The other party began talking to the heroes, taunting and antagonizing them a bit
- They said they were there to use the Lens to find The Great Gold Wyrm‘s Treasure Hoard
- Idris said many had tried before, and were unsuccessful.
- Legion taunted them a bit and they said, “We will use it first”.
- The Storm Giant attendant came in to bring the other visitors in to use the lens.
- Ankyroth comes to meet the heroes and immediately tells them they may speak before he kills them
- Idris apologizes for the actions of The Undaunted and volunteers we can disable some of The Archmage‘s wards for the Storm Giants
- Ankyroth is intrigued, and despite Idris‘ best diplomacy, it wasn’t enough to get permission to use the Lens first.
- Ankyroth demanded The Undaunted disable wards first, THEN we can use the lens
- Idris insisted that the wards could not result in endangering innocents, but Ankyroth didn’t agree – said it wasn’t their concern.
- Reluctantly, the heroes agreed to do wards first, then we’ll use the lens after to find Pheig.
